Since GC Rieber’s founding 140 years ago, one of the guiding principles has been:
“Natural resources should be passed on to future generations in the same or better condition than when we found them.”

In 2010 GC Rieber joined the UN Global Compact initiative. The UN Global Compact has established universal guidelines that encourage and demonstrate how businesses should take into account the following principles:

  • Labour rights
  • Human rights
  • Protection of the environment
  • Anti-corruption

From the initial catch to the finished product, VivoMega offers full transparency and traceability. GC Rieber VivoMega has developed an internal process which allows for traceability throughout the entire value chain. We believe that this is more important than ever before and is an ongoing testament to the quality of our products.

Innovation & Quality

At GC Rieber VivoMega we are constantly working to improve the quality of our products. We have a proud history of lowering the limits for purity and oxidation levels. As a result, VivoMega has the lowest environmental toxin limits in the world, far below any other industrial standard. With world class oxidation parameters and our advanced thin-film technology, VivoMega is able to ensure you receive a product with an exceptional taste and smell.

The graph demonstrates our ongoing commitment to lowering oxidation levels. Since 2015, our final oxidation values have been 75% lower than IFOS 5-star and 80% lower than the GOED monograph.

Eco-Friendly Production

Rather than catching fish for our exclusive use, VivoMega’s starting material is a by-product of the fish meal industry.

Producing our fish oil in this manner, minimizes waste and eliminates the impact on the environment. Our processing technology also allows us to minimize unwanted waste material. Taking it a step further, we use the bio-fuel created from our fish-oil production, reducing the need for external energy sources. The remaining bio-fuel and fertilizer by-products are used by local aquaculture and food production industries. This entire process, combined with our day-to-day environmental initiatives, allow us to dramatically minimize our eco-footprint.

Supply & Capacity

In addition to producing great fish oils, we strive to ensure our partners have the product they want, when they need it.

GC Rieber VivoMega has the world’s largest fish oil storage facility with over 24,000 metric tonnes of capacity, providing us with a significant purchasing advantage, as well as the flexibility to meet our customers’ ongoing supply needs. This investment is part of VivoMega’s continual commitment to producing industry leading Omega-3 oils. Our storage capacity also allows us to consolidate orders, minimizing the environmental impact of numerous small shipments.
